Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Event for Thanksgiving

In a unexpected collaboration that challenges usual predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event runs from November 25 through December 22, including no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Strange Mission Uncovered

According to the official release, "A mysterious meeting pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of banned rituals and terrifying transformations reverberate through the obscurity." The narrative features a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a clandestine cult.

The mission concentrates on "bizarre tests and a monstrous enemy" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses

The trailer showcases the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The trailer finishes with a powerful sequence showing a character, probably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Extra Content

Players who successfully complete the adventure will obtain an exclusive katana alongside multiple objects hidden throughout the area in secret chests. The update also includes premium Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:

• Titan-inspired attire for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Exclusive weapons
• Survey Corps vehicle

Third Free Story Addition

This release also introduces the game's newest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful adventure partners Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature abilities: Naoe reveals a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

Earlier Japanese Animation Crossovers

This signifies not the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime franchises. The series formerly featured a 2020 cross-promotional story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla informally contained a quest that clearly referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
