From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, fresh DM the talented storyteller has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, evil spirits, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the city.
Note: Revealing details for the latest installment of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of characters who will branch out from the central cast to begin their own adventure, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), the agile character (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given 13 cast members, it was obvious from the beginning that maintaining everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, intertwining the characters’ stories before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a classically intense combat and conflict-driven story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might look unsuited, but the actions of the third episode make it clear why these particular heroes are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a intense first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, entering the hidden lair, striking the character, and taking all the powerful objects to sell off.
Casimir then settled his obligations and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as the companion and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in the region and warns that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could assist the party reach locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, Teor swore a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that govern the setting for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city too risky:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- The strong figure and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to journey toward the remote area in search of the antagonist.
